Man I am lost and need some help. I have 12 LED hooked up parallel. They are running to a 12V toggle switch then it runs to the power source. The LED are 5mm bright LED with a high of 3.6V. No matter what I do the power source gets very hot. I have tried 4 AAA batteries and even tried 4 AA batteries and both get very hot. My understanding is both these set ups would be 6V which would be two much Volts, but nothing ever blew, the batteries just get extremly hot. I tried to put a resisitor in, but thenm the lights were two dim. Next i tried 2 C batteries would would only be 3V and should power the lights no problem and not have to have a resistor. Again the batteries just get very hot. When I first turn on the lights they all work with any of the three power sources, so I would think the wiring is fine. What is causing the batteries to get hot and how would I fix this problem. Thanks in adavance.
